Neymar runs Brazil’s great start

The former Santos star was Brazil’s best player in the opening match of the Confederations Cup. Brazil beat Japan 3-0

Brazil and Japan played the opening match of the Confederations Cup, on Saturday, June 15. Just over 67,000 fans were at the Mané Garrincha stadium, in Brasília. Brazil beat Japan with three great goals. The first was scored after just three minutes when Neymar hit a beautiful and powerful shot from outside the area[1]. In the first half Brazil had two good chances toextend their lead through with [2] strikers Fred and Hulk. Japan did not manage any good chances in the first half. As in the first half, Brazil scored an early goal in the second half, by Paulinho. Neymar was still the best Brazil player, but he asked to be substituted after suffering a slight back injury [3]. Towards [4] the end of the game it began to rain heavily in Brasilia. In the last minute of the game, Oscar made a great move and pass to the striker Jô, who scored Brazil’s third and final goal. Even in victory, coach Scolari was not entirely pleased with the performance by Brazil. In an interview after the game, he said Brazil needs to sort out [5] some problems. On Wednesday, June 19, Brazil play Mexico, in Fortaleza, and on Saturday they play Italy.
